The regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Republican Club was called to order by President Matt Breeding at 6:40 p.m. A quorum was confirmed with 32 members in good standing present, each wearing a membership badge.

The invocation was delivered by Randy Leatherman, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lt. Col. Chris Burnett, USMC (Ret.).  Chris lives in Montgomery County, this was his first time attending our meeting.

The minutes from the previous meeting, posted in advance on the Club’s website, were approved following a motion that was seconded and unanimously carried.

Treasurer John McElroy presented the financial report. A motion to approve the report was made by County Commissioner Randy Leatherman, seconded by Kaye Enderlee, and unanimously approved.

Vice President Jerimy Tindal provided notice of proposed amendments to the Club’s Bylaws. No vote was taken; the amendments will be presented for consideration at the next meeting.

The Club discussed reinstating its Facebook Group. Jim Magarity moved to make the page public again while maintaining content boundaries. The motion was seconded by Gina Circinone and approved by the membership.

Guest speaker John Myrick, candidate for Governor of Maryland, addressed the Club at 7:05 p.m. He outlined his platform, including restoring accountability, fiscal restraint, tax cuts, business retention and attraction, school improvements, enhanced public safety, and integrity-driven governance. A question & answer session followed. Mr. Myrick concluded his remarks at 7:45 p.m.

Jessica Klick, Executive Director of the Hagerstown Area Pregnancy Center (HAPC), spoke at 7:50 p.m. She highlighted the 2005 opening of the Tree of Life Clinic, described the Center’s services, and reported that 2,474 babies have been saved since its founding. A client testimonial video was shown, followed by a question & answer session.

Gail Miller made a motion to donate $500.00 to the Hagerstown Area Pregnancy Center, seconded by Washington County State’s Attorney Gina Circinone. The motion was unanimously approved.

The 50/50 raffle raised $106.00, with Club member Gail Miller winning $53.00.

Members were reminded that the next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Williamsport American Legion. The Washington County Delegation will present a synopsis of the 2025 legislative session.

There being no further business, President Breeding adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
